Description



From 1949 through 1953, the New York Yankees collected five consecutive World Series championships. Despite winning 103 games in 1954, they did not get a crack at a sixth straight title, due to the Cleveland Indians record 111-win season. Many of the Yankees players who had a hand in their great success of the era, are present and accounted for with this pair of 1954 Yankees souvenirs.

1954 Yankees team-signed baseball with (25) autographs. The factory labeling stamps are too faded to identify the ball type. The autographs range ("5" to "7") in potency, however several are affected by small abrasions. The singers are: Sweet Spot: Allie Reynolds; North Panel: Bill Miller, Harry Byrd, Tom Morgan, Willy Miranda, Ralph Houk, Gil McDougald, Tom Gorman; South Panel: Ed Ford (HOF), Phil Rizzuto (HOF), Mickey Mantle (HOF), Jim Brideweser, Ed Robinson, "Yogi" Berra (HOF), "Lefty" Gomez (HOF); East Panel: Jerry Coleman, Steve Kraly, Gus Triandos, Irv Noren; West Panel: Ed Lopat, Gene Woodling, Hank Bauer, Art Schallock, Joe Collins, Andy Carey.
