Chicago-based photographer George Brace, along with his partner George Burke, had grand plans to document every major leaguer in the National League and American League—which was only possible because all players came through the Windy City to play either at Wrigley Field or Comiskey Park. Here, Brace writes to Pirates manager Fred Clarke and appears to reference that very project: "I am building up a baseball library of the National and American Leagues and I was wondering if you may recall any of the first names of the players listed below who were teammates of yours during your playing career." Brace also asks him to confirm any Clarke family relatives that may be playing in the majors. At the bottom of the page, both men have signed their names, and the 66-year-old Clark has added, "The check above is all I can remember." Technically FR condition due to peripheral wear/staining. Signature strength averages "8-9". Full LOA from JSA.
