Four decades after his Hall of Fame playing career ended, the .400 hitter Jesse Burkett enjoyed a banquet dinner put on by the Worcester Retired Professional Baseball Players' Association. Interestingly, the event also had a football element for the 200-plus attendees, because film footage was shown from the historic, then-recent upset win when Holy Cross routed Boston College 55-12! All of this is detailed in the accompanying newspaper account, but the main attraction of course is the 5" x 6-3/4" multi-signed sheet with "7-9"-strength signatures of Burkett (d.1953), Eddie Carr (minor leaguer), Frank Lingley, Hugh Bradley (Red Sox), Tom Dunn (ump), Chief Werre, Bill Stewart (ump), Doc Carney (Braves player), John Quinn (Braves president), Tom Quinn, Mayor Bennett, John Anderson (MLB player), Bill Summers (ump) and 3 others. GD condition frontally with heavy reverse mounting wear. Full LOA from JSA.
