Description

Think about the last time you saw a bunch of high quality Stanford Pottery banks for sale in one lot. While you're scratching your head to come up with such an occasion, feel your inner excitement meter rising rapidly, as you realize what a fantastic opportunity this selection of (8) 1940s-1950s Stanford Pottery baseball figure banks represents. The "Wow" factor runs high in this stunning group, as these seventy-year-old porcelain statue banks are radiant, with bold colors and abundant original gloss.

Featured are:

(2) Figures with "Bums" on the jerseys and letter "D" on the caps. Whether the D was intended to represent Dodgers or Dem, as in "Dem Bums", these cigar-chomping mascots are undoubtedly a representation of the Brooklyn Dodgers "Bum." One figure (NM) has a pinpoint surface impression on the bottom of the right ear that is a factory flaw, and the other (also NM) has a single stray fleck of black paint on the base;

(2) Boston or possibly Milwaukee Braves Native American mascot figures with "Braves" on their jerseys. One piece has a pinpoint fleck of extraneous paint on the back of the head near the feather (NM). The other piece (also NM) has a small nub on the back of the jersey near the bat knob, that is a factory flaw;

Cleveland Indians early "Chief Wahoo" example with "Indians" on the jersey has two small paint breaks in the hair on the right side of the head, that appear to be factory firing flaws, otherwise presents (NM);

Detroit Tigers man-face with "Detroit" on the jersey and a blank cap with light crazing streaks running from the face and neck down onto the jersey (EX+);

Detroit Tigers tiger-face mascot with "Detroit" on the jersey" and "D" on the cap. Has soiling on the shoes and base, and a 1/8" paint chip on the left shoe that forces a (VG) rating, though otherwise it presents much, much better;

Pittsburgh Pirates Buccaneer mascot with "Pirates" on the jersey. Has crazing on the base, and a small chip on the bandana at rear right (VG-EX+).
